Chugai Pharma Taiwan (CPT) initiated an innovative campaign to promote sustainability—the cultivation of millet and the protection of the habitat of the russet sparrow, a protected species, in the villages of the Rukai people in Pingtung. For CPT, the campaign is not only a proactive move to implement its corporate social responsibility, but also a part of its advocacy of environmental protection and responsible consumption.

Chugai Pharma Taiwan, in collaboration with the local brand "Taiwan BlueMagpie Tea", has sponsored a organic BlueMagpie Tea Garden this year, aiming at assisting tea farmers in growing pesticide-free tea leaves, transforming Pinglin into an ecological village, ensuring safer water supply sourced from Feicui Reservoir to the Greater Taipei Area, while also supporting tea farmers in their livelihoods, to protect food safety, the environment, and our cherished blue magpies.

With a deficiency in clotting factors, hemophilia patients face not only the constant worry of accidental injuries but also the burdensome occurrence of spontaneous bleeding, particularly within the joint cavities. The recurring nature of these bleedings, coupled with the inability to replenish clotting factors on time, has led to disability among countless hemophilia patients in the past. Hence, the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) has proclaimed April 17th as "World Hemophilia Day," with activities organized worldwide to enhance the awareness of care among hemophilia patients and their families.

Chugai Pharma Taiwan Ltd. (CPT) has entered into an agreement with Taiwan BlueMagpie Tea, a local brand at Pinglin, New Taipei City, to assist tea farmers to grow non-toxic tea through contract farming. A tea plantation unveiling ceremony was held on May 3rd, 2023, officially initiating the partnership aiming at establishing Pinglin into an ecological village. This collaborative effort seeks to ensure the water safety of Feicui Dam, a vital water source for the greater Taipei area, while supporting tea farmers in their livelihoods, safeguarding food safety, and preserving blue magpies.

It is Chugai Parma Taiwan's (CPT) ongoing effort to fulfill its corporate social responsibility by continuing to invest in social welfare activities. The “Cycling for Charity” organized by CPT each year won the Company the “AREA: Social Empowerment Award” in July 2022.

Chugai Pharma Taiwan (CPT), the Taiwan Neuroimmunology Medical Society and the Edgework Market have teamed up to hold a fun-packed yet informative charity event, “Be Hopeful; Be Fabulous”, on May 28 in the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei. Everyone is welcome to join this Love Bazaar, where people can purchase cultural & creative goods and learn about the NMOSD. The more people buy, the more CPT will donate to those in need. Keril Victor, a renowned singer from the Taiwanese TV singing competition, Jungle Voice, and many other hipster singers, will also be present and wow people with their singing talents.

To achieve TOP I 2030 milestones of Chugai Group, "Implementing ESG and Sustainable Social Development", Chugai Pharma Taiwan (CPT) has taken part in ‘Sidewalk Tree Adoption by Corporate’ since 2019, promoting by the Park Administration Office of Taipei City Government. This year (April 2022), CPT won "Best adopter", which was evaluated by Taipei City Government!

On April 17, World Hemophilia Day this year, the Taiwan Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, the Hemophilia Association of Taiwan (HAT), Chugai Pharma Taiwan (CPT), and the New Taipei Kings basketball team jointly invited hemophiliacs to enjoy an exciting basketball game. The event hopes to raise public awareness and positive recognition of hemophilia through appeals to the general public and provide more encouragement and support.

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for worldwide environmental protection. In 2022, Chugai Pharma Taiwan (CPT) joined the group to echo for CommonWealth Magazine "CSR@天下", and launched "Tamsui River Convention of Earth Day_ Voice for the Great River" together with the corporates and citizens, who pay attention to CSR initiatives. Tamsui River is like a very hard-working mother, taking care of more than 8 million people in northern Taiwan. We look forward to building a good habitat for the creatures in Tamsui River. CPT signed and echoed to the "Tamsui River Convention" from 2021. During this period, we advocated to our colleagues to bring their own eco-friendly tableware in daily life to reduce the dependence on disposable tableware. When receiving visitors, we replace the bottled water with sparkling water glasses to reduce the use of disposable plastic bottles. At the same time, in addition to CPT own efforts to protect the environment, CPT’s employees are encouraged to bring home the sparkling water to share with their families. Through promoting and sharing ideas and then influencing others to achieve the common goal of sustainable development, plastic reduction can be realized in life, and the "Do one thing for Tamsui River" plan has also been achieved.
