In recent years, Chugai Pharma Taiwan (CPT) proactively takes action to do charity and contribute to social care. By holding cycling event combined with charity donations every year, CPT can not only put emphasis on the physical and mental health of employees but also demonstrates corporate social responsibility. This year, CPT also planned the charity event – 3-day (from Nov 9 to Nov11) cycling to Yunlin, Changhua, and Nantou. Leaving Taipei’s rainy weather, fortunately the weather in central Taiwan was quite good. All staffs took the high-speed rail excitedly. After arriving in Yunlin, everyone got dressed immediately for the cycling and stepped on their bikes to the first stop - Huwei Sugar Refinery. All staffs enjoyed the traditional Taro ice cream. In the afternoon, CPT arranged a wander in "Gukeng Green Tunnel Park" to let forty participants get relaxed, roam around in the green world and feel the essence of Phytoncide. After that, all staffs kept up the good work, step by step, and carried on donating the prepared daily necessities to the nursery. This time, CPT’s donation site is "Yi-Xin Children’s Home". The donation includes electric oven, food processor, electric pots, rice, olive oil, and tissues. This nursery mainly takes care of underprivileged children, whose family has lost its functions, single parent with problems or bereavement, etc. Through the director’s briefing explanation and actual visits to the nursery environment, all participants had a deeper understanding of the nursery’s background and service. The cycling event combined with the donation activities made all participants deeply experience the happiness of giving back to the society with their own efforts. The 3-day cycling event was enriched and filled with love. In the future, CPT will constantly dedicate to social care and take social welfare as own responsibility.

Recent years, Chugai Pharma Taiwan has placed emphasis on social care and employee wellness. By holding charity events every year, Chugai Pharma Taiwan proactively takes action to implement Corporate Social Responsibility. Undoubtedly, this year, CPT also hosts the charity event – 3-day (from October 9 to October 11) cycling event at Kinmen. The flight took off in the early morning on October 9 and then landed Kinmen airport around 1 hour later. It was a sunny day. After getting off the airplane, everyone changed clothes immediately for the cycling. Kinmen Fu-Ten Home was the first stop. Almost 40 members joined the event even though they did know it was never easy to ride bikes all day long under the burning sun and in such hilly terrain. They just kept cycling step by step not only to shorten the distance to the destination but to show their sincere concern to the society. Chugai Pharma Taiwan coordinated this charity event to offer employees a wellness program, a closer look about Kinmen culture and history, and a real experience of participating social contribution through the donation such as industrial fans, raw rice, and daily necessaries to support the charity institution. Chugai Pharma Taiwan will constantly dedicate to social care and take social welfare as own responsibility as always.

Chugai Pharma Taiwan continuously dedicates to earth environment. On October 20, 2018, CPT heads to Xiao Liu Qiu Island for a 2-day beach cleanup family activity in order to save the ocean. Xiao Liu Qiu is the only coral island of six Taiwan’s offshore islands, which is also a great habitat for green sea turtle. CPT employees and their families pick up rubbish to reduce marine pollution, and bring their own eco-friendly tableware and water bottles to reduce disposable plastic usage. Moreover, to maximize the power of intention, CPT made customized medical-grade TPE stainless steel straw sets for all employees and their family members participating the meaningful activity. Hope to not only expand a rippling effect of earth protection within everyone’s minds, but also keep taking actions in their daily lives. By doing this, CPT implement ecology & environmental protection, and raise public awareness of caring for the ocean.

Chugai Pharma Taiwan has always paid attention to employee wellness and social care. This year, the company planed a 4-day (from April 19 to April 22) cycling activity at Penghu to offer employees not only a wellness program but also a stunning firework show on Day 1 which is the open ceremony of Penghu International Fireworks Festival. On Day 2, CPT employees visited Penghu Senior Citizens Home and donated the daily necessaries including adult diapers, wet wipes and razors to support the institution. Chugai Pharma Taiwan will continuously dedicate to social care and take social welfare as own responsibility.

Chugai Pharma Taiwan always cares for Earth environment. On October 14, 2017, CPT sponsors ‘2017 AMEA Beach Cleanup Carnival’ held by NMMST (National Museum of Marine Science & Technology) and AMEA (Asia Marine Educator Association). CPT employees and their family dedicate the weekend to beach cleanup and raise awareness on caring for Earth and the ocean.

Chugai Pharma Taiwan has always paid attention to employee wellness and social care. On February 27, 2017, Chugai Pharma Taiwan visits Eden Social Welfare Foundation in Yilan to care underprivileged group while in three days of staff cycling activities. During the visit, CPT employees donate uniform invoices, rice, hair dryers and dehumidifiers. Chugai Pharma Taiwan will keep on continuously caring for public service and social responsibility.

After a magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck southern Taiwan at 3:57am on February 6, 2016, Chugai Pharma Taiwan donates one-day salary to help Tainan with post-earthquake relief and reconstruction efforts.

Ex-CPT and ex-CTW have been successfully merged on July 31, 2015. In order to celebrate this new milestone of birth of new CPT, Mr. Osamu Nagayama, the Chairman & CEO, specially visited Taipei for the New CPT Kick-off Ceremony at Okura Hotel on September 5, 2015.
