To achieve TOP I 2030 milestones of Chugai Group, "Implementing ESG and Sustainable Social Development", Chugai Pharma Taiwan (CPT) has taken part in ‘Sidewalk Tree Adoption by Corporate’ since 2019, promoting by the Park Administration Office of Taipei City Government. This year (April 2022), CPT won "Best adopter", which was evaluated by Taipei City Government!

Chugai Pharma Taiwan, CPT, continuously dedicates to community environment. Takes part in ‘Sidewalk Tree Adoption by Corporate’ activity, promoting by Taipei City Government. Proactively adopts the 8 sidewalk trees in front of the office building on Dunhua North Road, and also grows small plants around these trees. This meaningful initiative helps to maintain good soil condition and protect animals and plants in surrounding area. Furthermore, installing spotlights to light up the plants and trees not only beautifies the community but also increases pedestrian safety at night. From 2019, Chugai Pharma Taiwan initiated sidewalk tree adoption in order to enhance community participation and protect the earth. For this purpose, CPT raised application to the management committee of the office building and contacted Parks Office of Public Works Department in Taipei City Government to discuss implementation details. Going through several times communication, the application had finally approved. After that, CPT shown concern about environmental protection carefully by cooperating with a planting expert to evaluate soil condition, grow flowers and grasses, and furnish night light. It created a green landscape in Taipei City, also boosting good moods for passengers. Therefore, this initiative can be seen as a wonderful combination of caring on both community and environment.
