A strong earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale struck near Hualien, in eastern Taiwan, in the early morning of April 3rd. This is the largest earthquake since the 921 earthquake. Numerous homes collapsed across Taiwan, with Hualien being particularly hard-hit. Many people have been affected, with some losing their homes and facing a long road to recovery.
We express our deepest sympathy to all those recently affected by the earthquake on the east coast of Taiwan.
