Chugai Pharma Taiwan Hosts Patient Care Workshop to Deepen a Patient-Centric Culture

Chugai Pharma Taiwan (CPT) held a patient care workshop on December 16, turning the concept of " Patient-centricity" from a slogan into concrete action. The event invited patients and their families to share their experiences, enabling the management and cross-departmental colleagues to gain deeper insights into patient needs and work together toward a more supportive healthcare environment.

Mr. Yuji HABARA, President and General Manager of CPT, stated that the company's mission is not only to address "Unmet Medical Needs" but also to actively respond to "Unmet Social Needs." He emphasized that challenges such as treatment side effects, efficacy, and the time and financial burden of hospital visits significantly affect patients' daily lives. Mr. Habara noted that our vision is to continuously explore and collaborate to improve patients' quality of life. This is the very purpose behind organizing this workshop.

The core spirit of the "Chugai Patient CARE Workshop" lies in Connect, Acknowledge, Reflect, and Empathize. The workshop aims to deeply embed the value of "Patient Voice First" into the corporate culture. Through listening and understanding, working together to identify patient-focused improvements and create a more compassionate care environment.

To ensure meaningful dialogue, CPT conducted preparatory interviews with patients, caregivers, and internal teams to gain deeper insight into the patient journey and its challenges. During the workshop, patients and caregivers shared their real-life experiences and challenges, enabling the company team to gain deeper insight into patient needs and inspire future collaboration for improvement.

Mr. Habara reiterated, "'Patient-centricity' is the core value of all actions at Chugai. This workshop marks an important starting point. The resilience and feedback from patients will continue to inspire our efforts. We are committed to integrating these insights into our daily work to drive actions that truly reflect patient needs."

CPT believes that listening to patients not only enhances the care experiences but also supports more effective use of healthcare resources and create shared value for patients, society, and the company. Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen a patient centric culture, ensuring that every decision prioritizes patient well-being.
