Chugai Pharma Taiwan won the Ministry of Economic Affairs "Buying Power” Procurement Award for two consecutive years

The “2024 Buying Power Social Innovation Product and Service Procurement Award” ceremony was held on the afternoon of December 6, 2024, at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. Representing the company, Ms. Susan Chou, Head of HR Department of CPT, accepted the award alongside over 100 renowned enterprises and organizations. The award, organized by the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs since 2017, aims to encourage public and private organizations to procure products or services from social innovation organizations. This initiative helps social innovation organizations gain resources, expand market opportunities, and support products that are friendly to society and the environment.
The awards were presented based on the annual procurement amounts dedicated to responsible social innovation. CPT received a Procurement Award, recognizing its commitment to sustainable development and support for excellent suppliers through responsible corporate procurement. This year, CPT embraced the environmental sustainability concept promoted by the social innovation organization “PackAge+” by adopting eco-friendly recycled material circular boxes for its Mid-Autumn Festival gift sets. These boxes can be reused 5-10 times and include clear instructions for recipients to return them easily via FamilyMart convenience stores, some Carrefour branches, and Watsons. After retrieval, the boxes are sent to sheltered workshops for cleaning and reuse, thereby providing employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Additionally, CPT gifted employees and business partners the Russet Sparrow Millet Gift Set, which supports the "Russet Sparrow Millet Restoration Project." This initiative reflects the company's dedication to sustainability while advocating for circular economy principles and green, low-carbon practices, demonstrating a positive impact on society.
Susan Chou, Head of the HR Department of CPT, expressed gratitude to the judges for recognizing the company’s commitment to environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) issues, as well as its dedication to sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. Looking ahead, CPT will continue its responsible procurement and drive SDG 12 "Responsible Consumption and Production". CPT aims to wield influence by ongoing collaboration with social welfare and innovation groups, contributing earnestly to societal and environmental well-being.
